In Thompson and Cremo appeared on the NBC special The Mysterious Origins of Manwhich was based upon the book   and which was similarly criticized by the scientific community. In distinction to the usual brand of such writing, the authors use original sources and the book is well written.
This book contains numerous examples of disregarded evidence just because it did not fit into the preconcieved notions of how things progressed, illustrating how anthropology and archaeology are not ‘sciences’ if one repeatedly disregards evidence in favor of sticking with hypothesis that have already been established – and in many cases, without concrete evidence to begin with.
Both the former and latter laws of archaeology must be satisfied to make any conclusion at all. British Journal for the History of Science.
He sometimes writes books on Hindu spirituality under the pseudonym of Drutakarma Dasa. Groves also states that their discussion of radiometric dating fails to take account of the ongoing refinement of these methods, and the resulting fact that later results are more reliable than earlier ones. The older evidence, Cremo and Thompson say, was never shown bad; it was just reinterpreted in such a way as to rule out tertiary humans. It’s over pages long and reads like an encyclopedia.

Scholars of the mainstream archaeological and paleoanthropological communities have described his work as pseudoscience. The fact that our ancestors might be much older than we know, actually millions of years, is thrilling.
And I haven’t even gotten to the weird parts yet. I’ve never read it cover to cover, but I’ve read it in it’s entirety piece by piece.
