I personally really enjoyed reading all the different voices from characters such as a social worker, a foster mother, a reporter and a police officer, but also the Cashman family. The Big Reveal at the end didn’t work for me, I admit. Jake passes away the next day from his injuries, caused by blunt force trauma and the surgeon admits that he has noticed indications of other abuse, older wounds that have healed, probably without medical assistance.

Review – GHOST CHILD, Caroline Overington

A very simple clear writing style. I couldn’t put this book down! I Came To Say Goodbyean earlier work by this author, is excellent chil. Twenty years later, Lauren, who is a nurse’s aide, is part of another court case.

Lauren, one of the other children in the family, is now grown up. The different perspectives, not to mention the different voices, really keep the story going and you get to piece ghoxt, bit by bit, what happened that day and why it matters now. I enjoyed reading this book.

But I stuck with it and found elements quite beautiful and sad.
